This contract is part of the R&D project REFERENCE PID2021-127318OB-I00, financed by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033/FEDER, EU "A way of making Europe"


The funding available for this contract is linked to a single research project, therefore, the Research Line will be linked to the project: “AI-METMI-Artificial Intelligence-boosted computational platform for the development of human microbial METabolite-MImics as drugs and nutraceutics”

Main functions:

- Structure-based virtual screening

- Chemoinformatic analysis of chemical patterns in compound collections

- Structure prediction of protein-protein complexes with AlphaFold-Multimer

- Coevolution analysis of mutations

- End-point free energy calculations

Requirements

I. Entry requirements:

Education: Required qualification:

- Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences (preferably in Biochemistry) and

- Master's Degree in Bioinformatics and Biostatistics (official).

II. Assessment of merits:

I. Additional training to be valued (other qualifications, other knowledge):

- The transcript of grades of the University Degree and Master's Degree will be valued.

- English language would be an asset: minimum level C1 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) or equivalent accredited by an official certificate.

- Others related to the position.

II.Professional experience to be assessed:

- Experience in chemoinformatics: virtual screening (AutoDock Vina), molecular graphics, programming with Python / RDKit; protein-protein complex prediction with AlphaFold-Multimer, molecular docking and mutation co-evolution analysis.

- Python programming for data analysis and structural bioinformatics (Pandas, Matplotlib, Numpy, Seaborn, Biopython);

- R programming for statistics and bioinformatics (Bioconductor);

- Bash programming and Linux environment experience; Docker and Conda environments.

III. Skills and abilities (to be assessed in the interview):

- Motivated person, enthusiastic about science, able to work in a group, proactive, disciplined, responsible.

- Verification of English language skills.

- Suitability for the position.

Selection Criteria

The selection of candidates shall be carried out in accordance with the principles of equality, merit, ability and publicity, as well as objectivity, independence and professional rigour, respecting the confidentiality of the personal data of the participants, by means of a merit-based competition.

Once the deadline for the submission of applications has expired, and once the fulfilment of the requirements listed in the second base has been verified, the Selection Committee will proceed to assess the merits included in the curricula vitae related to the post and to select the candidates who best meet the established requirements, and will then open a second selection phase consisting of a personal interview.

The personal interview will consist of a face-to-face or videoconference interview which will focus solely on the merits put forward by the candidates in the competition phase and will be aimed at assessing the candidate's suitability for the post. The interview will last a maximum of 45 minutes.

Scale - selection criteria:
The evaluation process will be carried out according to the following criteria:

I. Additional training to be assessed: 0-30*.

II. Experience to be assessed: 0-40*.

III. Interview: 0-30

Conditions

Type of contract:  employment contract for scientific-technical activities (art. 23 bis Science Law) in accordance with current legislation with a trial period established by law.

Dedication: full time (37,5 hours per week), flexible split day, from Monday to Friday.

Annual gross salary: 20,920 euro.

Incorporation: immediately.
