CALL FOR A RESEARCH ASSISTANT AT THE IMDEA FOOD FOUNDATION (PROJECT "METAINFLAMACIÓN-CM")

The contract is funded by the Community of Madrid through the grant Ref. Y2020/BIO-6600, acronym "METAINFLAMACIÓN-CM", in the framework of the 2020 Call for grants for the implementation of synergistic R&D projects in new and emerging scientific areas at the frontier of science and of an interdisciplinary nature (Order 93/2020, of 2 July, of the Regional Minister of Education and Research).
The funding available for this contract is linked to a single research project; the performance of scientific-technical activities linked to the line of research carried out by the research group requires its development in the form of the following research project: "METAINFLAMACIÓN-CM - Y2020/BIO-6600: "Personalised meta-categorisation of inflammatory processes associated with metabolic syndrome, autoimmune and viral diseases for precision medicine" funded by the Community of Madrid in the framework of the 2020 Call for grants for the implementation of synergistic R&D projects in new and emerging scientific areas at the frontier of science and of an interdisciplinary nature.
The performance of the specific scientific and technical research project is based on a detailed study of the characterisation of the inflammatory process in EAS, COVID-19 and SM, the development of algorithms for the accurate characterisation of patients and the application of a nutritional intervention to reduce the impact of inflammation.
Main functions:
The candidate is expected to perform collaborative functions in recruitment, maintenance and updating of the database, implementation of statistical analysis, preparation of documents, reports, publications and communications to congresses.
In addition, the person hired will collaborate in the analysis and interpretation of microbiota in faecal samples, as well as preparation of complementary biochemical analyses.

Education: Qualifications required:
Holding a Master's Degree, or equivalent, in the area of Health Sciences.
* Field of research: Precision nutrition and microbiota analysis in health and disease.

Other postgraduate training related to biomedical sciences.
Certificates and diplomas related to the research of the project.
Specialisation courses in the area/field of research of the project.

Teaching and research in the area of this project, including publications and communications to congresses.

Language certificate (accredited)
Knowledge of biostatistics (mainly in R).
IV. Skills and abilities (to be assessed in the interview):
Knowledge in clinical analysis and molecular biology/genetics.
Working knowledge of languages
Competencies: Results-oriented, highly proactive, responsible.
Skills: Organisational skills. Ability to integrate in a multidisciplinary
multidisciplinary team. Ability to work as part of a team with the ability to build personal relationships.
Adequacy for the job.
The selection of candidates shall be carried out in accordance with the principles of equality, merit, ability and publicity, as well as objectivity, independence and professional rigour, respecting the confidentiality of the personal data of the participants, by means of a merit-based competition.
Once the deadline for the submission of applications has expired, and once the fulfilment of the requirements listed in the second base has been verified, the Selection Committee will proceed to assess the merits included in the curricula vitae related to the post and to select the candidates who best meet the established requirements, and will then open a second selection phase consisting of a personal interview.
The personal interview will consist of a face-to-face or videoconference interview which will focus solely on the merits put forward by the candidates in the competition phase and will be aimed at assessing the candidate's suitability for the post. The interview will last a maximum of 45 minutes.

The evaluation process will be carried out according to the following criteria:
I. Additional training to be assessed: 0-30*.
II. Experience to be assessed: 0-30*.
III. Other merits to be assessed: 0-10*.
IV. Interview: 0-30
Type of contract: employment contract for scientific-technical activities (art. 23 bis Science Act) with a probationary period established by law.
Dedication: Part-time with a dedication of 25 h/week distributed from Monday to Friday with the following timetable: 09:30-15:30 M-F.
Duration: Undetermined (until the end of the project 30/06/2024).
Gross Annual Salary: between 13,607 euros/year - 15,920 euros/year depending on experience and value of the candidate.
Incorporation: immediate.
