 This position is funded by the Comunidad de Madrid through the Grant  Ref. Y2020/TCS-6654, acronym "AI4Food-CM"


The available funding for this contract is linked to a single research project, therefore  the realization of scientific-technical activities linked to the research line carried out by the research group, requires its development in the form of the following research Project: "Artificial Intelligence for the Prevention of Chronic Diseases through Personalized Nutrition" (AI4Food-CM) awarded in the call for synergistic R&D projects in new and emerging scientific areas (2020), for the period 2021-2024. The main objective of AI4Food is to integrate the latest advances in artificial intelligence (AI) with sensor (IoT), phenotypic, and molecular data of the individuals to generate a paradigm shift in the field of nutritional advice with the development of new digital tools for help in decision making.

Main functions to carry out:

The scientific-technical activities to be carried out by the research assistant as research nutritionist for the Research Line are included in the activities of the AI4Food-CM Project for 2023 and 2024:

  • Development and implementation of clinical trials of nutritional intervention.
  • Development of the study protocol, preparation of the intervention, recruitment and selection of the population, data collection, etc.
  • Evaluation of digital tools for the assessment of nutritional status.
  • Evaluation and validation of the AI4Food digital platform.
  • Support in laboratory tasks, reception and processing of samples.
  • Collaboration in scientific and community-oriented dissemination activities.
  • Analysis of results.
Requirements

Education requirement:

  • University Degree/Graduated in Human Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Official University Master's degree (level 3 of the MECES) in the areas of Clinical Nutrition, Nutritional Genomics, Biomedical Engineering, Molecular Biology or Biochemistry will be valued positively.

Other training to be assessed (other qualifications, other knowledge):

  • Training in laboratory techniques for the genetic analysis of microbiota, metabolites or molecular biology techniques will be valued positively.
  • Computer and English language skills

Professional experience required:

  • Experience in nutritional research studies, protocol development, volunteer recruitment and management, data capture, diet analysis, data computerization, collection and processing of biological samples will be valued.

Other Professional experience to evaluate:

  • Experience in laboratory techniques for genetic, microbiota and metabolite analysis, molecular biology techniques will be an asset.
  • Experience in social media outreach and dissemination of results will be valued.
  • Experience with digital communication tools will be an asset.

Other merits to evaluate:

  • Specific training as an anthropometrist would be an asset.
  • Training in digital tools courses will be valued positively.

Skills (to evaluate in the interview):

  • Competences: results-oriented, highly proactive, task management, problem solving, responsible.
  • Skills: Organisational skills. Ability to integrate in a multidisciplinary team. Ability to work as part of a team with the ability to build personal relationships.
Selection Criteria

After the deadline for submission of applications, and once compliance with the requirements listed in the second base have been verified, the Selection Committee will proceed to assess the documented merits included in the curricula vitae and to select the candidatures that best suit the established requirements; then a second selection phase will then be opened, consisting of a personal interview.

The personal interview will consist of conducting a face-to-face or videoconference interview that will deal only with the merits declared by the candidates in the competition phase and will be aimed at assessing the candidate's suitability for the position. The interview will have a maximum duration of 45 minutes.

Conditions

Type of contract:  employment contract for scientific-technical activities (art. 23 bis  Spanish Science Law) with a trial period established by law.

Dedication: full time (37,5 hours per week), flexible split day, from Monday to Friday.

Annual gross salary: 23.962 euro. 

Duration: indeterminate.

Incorporation: immediately.
