As part of this framework, clinical trials involving human subjects are carried out within the research line on Precision Nutrition and Health, which is one of the main research areas of IMDEA Nutrition.

The position is linked to the development of the transversal research line “Clinical Trials in Precision Nutrition and Health”, specifically the GENYAL project and its subprojects. This line involves activities conducted by one or more research groups at IMDEA Nutrition and is developed through well-defined methodological approaches in the form of R&D projects or contracts.
The R&D Project Manager will provide support for the management of the scientific and technical activities of GENYAL, ensuring the correct coordination of R&D management information for the projects and subprojects within the “Clinical Trials in Precision Nutrition and Health” line, aligned with the general management standards of the Institute, in order to guarantee the consistency and coherence of all information that IMDEA must provide to external control and verification bodies.
Duties – Technical Profile:
The scientific and technical management activities to be carried out are specifically linked to the projects and services developed under the transversal
GENYAL project (“Clinical Trials in Precision Nutrition and Health”). In particular, the Project Manager will be responsible for:
- Preparing technical, administrative, financial, and budget execution documents required for the processing and management of grants awarded by various funding bodies, including regional and national administrations (AEI / ISCIII, etc.), as well as private entities supporting scientific and technical research;
- Managing these grants through the Foundation’s internal systems (including registration and monitoring of grants and their budgets, and performing all administrative tasks required by the granting bodies via the ERP-Fundanet Suite);
- Promoting and disseminating, among the research groups involved in GENYAL, information about R&D funding programs and calls from various entities that develop projects under the GENYAL platform;
- Providing continuous monitoring and support in the scientific and financial execution of the projects to ensure achievement of their scientific and budgetary goals, as well as preparing financial and scientific reports for the various R&D projects;
- Preparing and uploading reports, justifications, and other required documents to the electronic platforms used by various funding agencies for R&D project management, such as Quadrivium (Madrid Regional Government), @Facilita/Justieco (MCIN), and similar systems;
- Any other task directly related to the management, monitoring, and control of R&D projects and grants (including grants for hiring research staff).

- Specific training in public management will be valued: management and/or auditing of grants and public subsidies, budget and public expenditure management, and similar areas.
- Courses, master’s degrees, or specific training in fields directly related to the management and monitoring of R&D projects will be valued.
- Training in Project Management, Accounting, and Auditing will be valued.
- Other training directly related to the duties of the position will also be valued.
Professional Experience to Be Evaluated:
- Proven professional experience in the management, monitoring, justification, verification, or auditing of R&D funding, particularly public subsidies (including grants for research staff).
- Experience using R&D project management platforms such as Quadrivium (Madrid Regional Government), Justieco (MCIN), or similar.
- Experience and proficiency in the use of research management and accounting tools (ERPs).
- Other experience relevant to the duties of the position.
Other Merits to Be Evaluated:
- Proficiency in IT tools at user level. Strong proficiency and experience with the MS Office suite (especially Excel and its data management and analysis tools, such as pivot tables, macros, etc.); management of online scientific databases (WoS/WoK, Scopus, PubMed); proficiency with reference management software (EndNote, etc.).
- Knowledge of financial and/or budget management for private entities using any type of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software.
- Verifiable oral and written communication skills in English (minimum B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference).
- Other merits related to the duties of the position.

The selection of candidates shall be carried out in accordance with the principles of equality, merit, ability and publicity, as well as objectivity independence and professional rigour, respecting the confidentiality of the personal data of the participants, by means of a merit-based competition.
Once the deadline for the submission of applications has expired, and once the fulfilment of the requirements listed in the second base has been verified, the Selection Committee will proceed to assess the merits included in the curricula vitae related to the post and to select the candidates who best meet the established requirements, and will then open a second selection phase consisting of a personal interview.
The personal interview will consist of a face-to-face or videoconference interview which will focus solely on the merits put forward by the candidates in the competition phase and will be aimed at assessing the candidate's suitability for the post. The interview will last a maximum of 45 minutes.
Scale - selection criteria:
The evaluation process will be carried out according to the following criteria:
I. Additional training to be assessed: 0-20*.
II. Experience to be assessed: 0-40*.
III. Other merits to be assessed: 0-10*.
IV. Interview: 0-30
Type of contract: Permanent employment contract for managment of scientific-technical project activities (Article 23 bis of the Science Law), in accordance with current legislation, with a trial period as established by law.
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, split schedule from Monday to Friday.
Gross Annual Salary: based on proven experience and qualifications.
Contract Duration: open-ended.
Start Date: immediate, upon completion of the selection process.
